1 I BOOK IN ADVANCE

Book your table at least one week in advance: the reservation is free, but it must be accompanied by a prepaid voucher for each participant. Almost all tents require the purchase of at least two liters of beer and a half chicken for each member of the table, with a total cost ranging from 35 to 40 euros. Remember that you cannot book for fewer than 8/10 people, so make sure to organize your group well!

2 I CHOOSE THE PACKAGES

Explore the available packages! You will find the option to book a table, along with vouchers for beer and Tyrolean food, as well as many other special options. These packages make the experience more relaxing, allowing you to fully enjoy the atmosphere without having to search for a table at the last minute.

The most accredited options for purchasing the packages are: 

• Official Oktoberfest Website: Some tents sell vouchers directly on their websites. Check the specific information.
• Online Platforms: Sites like Viator and GetYourGuide offer packages with table reservations and vouchers. Book in advance to secure your spot.

3 I PAY IN CASH (AND LEAVE A TIP!)

At the Oktoberfest in Munich, although some ATMs for payment are available, most of the time they are not accepted, especially due to the large influx of people. It is therefore essential to have cash with you, as it is the preferred payment method. Additionally, bring some coins for tips for the waitstaff and, most importantly, be careful to pay with the exact amount: often, change is not returned and is kept as a tip. It's better to have the right amount of money on hand to avoid spending more than expected!

4 I ARRIVE EARLY IF YOU HAVEN'T BOOKED

If you haven't booked a table, try to arrive in the morning. The seats fill up quickly, and arriving early will give you a better chance of finding a spot. Plus, you can start enjoying the culinary delights without getting lost in the long lines!

6 I ATTENTION TO BACKPACKS 

Remember that you cannot bring backpacks with a capacity greater than 3L inside the tents. However, you can leave them at the entrance of the festival area by paying a 5 euro surcharge. It’s a good idea to bring only the essentials with you, so you can move freely between the various attractions.

7 I BEER PRICES 

For the 2024 edition, get ready to pay between 13.60 and 15.30 euros for a liter of beer. Don’t forget that beer is a key part of the festival, so make sure to leave some room in your budget to enjoy the various flavors!

8 I AVAILABLE SERVICES

Both public restrooms and semi-private restrooms are available during the event. The semi-private restrooms can be accessed through a voluntary donation. These are generally cleaner and better equipped, offering additional amenities such as sanitary pads and makeup removers for women.

9 I SET A MEETING POINT WITH YOUR FRIENDS

If you're attending Oktoberfest in a group, it's almost certain that you'll get separated at least once in the crowd. With all the hustle, numerous stands, and tents, it's hard to stay together for the entire event. The best thing to do? Set a meeting point and a time to regroup in case someone wanders off. Remember, with all the noise and the crowd, it will be hard to hear phone calls or notifications. It's better to have a plan in place to avoid long waits or endless searches!

10 I CHOOSE THE RIGHT CLOTHING

At Oktoberfest, clothing is also part of the experience! If you want to fully embrace the traditional atmosphere, go for the classic Bavarian outfit: a dirndl for women and lederhosen for men. These outfits will immerse you even more in the festivities and local traditions! If you prefer a casual look, keep in mind that the weather in Munich during that time can be unpredictable. Bring a jacket or sweater for cooler evenings, and opt for comfortable shoes since you'll be on your feet for many hours.
